The Javea tourist train is an awesome way to explore the three main centers of Javea. Taking approximately 1 hour 15, starting at the Javea Port, the tourist train takes you on a trip through and around the Javea Old Town, then back down the coast, all the way to the Arenal Beach and finally returning to the Port.
It’s no Bullet Train, but instead a slow and steady expedition of this beautiful town! Using the same ticket, you may exit the train at any of the 8 stops along the 8km route, and rejoin the train once it has completed a circuit and has come back around, giving you ample time to explore each of the different main centers of Javea.
The train only runs from June till September and for the Easter and Christmas holidays. It’s hours of operation are from 10:00 – 14:00, then there is a mid-afternoon break, where service will then resume at 17:00 all the way up until 23:00. The price of entry to the train is €4 for adults and €2.50 for children, and the prices do not vary depending on date or time of day. The Tourist Train is a novel way to discover Javea, proving both informative for adults and great fun for children. Definitely worth the experience!

Javea port area
Javea Port is well worth a visit. It boasts many shops, restaurants, (tapas) bars and the pretty La Grava peble beach alongside the promenade lined with lovely palmtrees in a relaxed atmosphere. The sculptures on the promenade are changed every year. Located at the north end of the promenade, Javea’s marina still functions as a fishing port with the fishing fleet arriving back in port at least once a day and yachts moored in the same vicinity. A market opens to sell the fresh produce caught by the fishermen. Walk past the harbour and ‘Club Náutico’ and you will come to the small beach named ‘Playa del Pope’ or ‘Playa del Tangó.
